- Your garden room’s intended use
The way that you plan to use your new garden room will influence its size and layout.
If you plan to use your garden room as a home office, you may find that our Studio pod provides enough space for your needs.
Perhaps you are looking for an extra guest room, in which case you may need more space and to consider ways to preserve your guest’s privacy. You may also like to include additional features, such as a useful kitchenette and a bathroom, to avoid midnight dashes across the garden.

- The size of your outdoor space
Ensuring that the proportions of your garden room enhance rather than detract from the appearance of your garden is crucial.
You may have grandiose plans for your garden room, but if you have a small garden, an overly large building could dominate the limited space.
Conversely, if you have a large garden, a small pod may look lost, and you would have missed the opportunity to provide extra space for all sorts of activities.
We advise customers to ensure their garden room occupies no more than 50% of their total garden space. It is also important to leave a margin of at least a metre for maintenance. You must also be mindful that your garden room should be at least a metre away from your boundary with your neighbour.

You will be living with your garden room for many years so it is a good idea to build in flexibility in terms of space and layout.
